This was the response when I asked about making RC

Dear throwscoach,

That has been a popular question as there is much demand for a 1/16 RC Hetzer. While our kit is designed as a static model, when the Hetzer was under design, we consulted with some RC modellers and incorporated some of thier suggestions regarding the lower hull.

While I cannot tell you specifically what drive train components it would take, I know that it was determined by one of the RC modelllers that the hull would be wide enough to accomodate it.

Soon, I will be having our corporate website up and running and on that we will be posting better pictures and some more detailed shots. The Ebay ad will have a link to the website. So, keep checking back.

If you wish, I can measure the inside of the lower hull for you and send you those measurements.

Eventually but not right now, we plan to offer a set of metal link to link tracks for those who might wish to have RC operation.

You'd better be hoping I don't make one of these ^

I wouldn't get too excited - I had some discussions with Dave about 18 months ago, showed him a few ideas from the build on BTN and looked into possible gearboxes for him - but if it is absolutely to scale you have a problem making anything that is battle capable fit...

Track choice would be tricky too...

KClank was working with him too - maybe he found something in 1:25 that would fit (or maybe Dave followed my suggestion and cheated a little on the hull???)

More info from Blue Star

Dear throwscoach,

Hello,
We have updated our website with over 50 detail photos of the Hetzer Master/Prototype.
You asked about how much room inside the lower hull. On the website, we provide a tab with 2 CAD renderings for customers interested in RC conversion. The renderings have dimensions for the inner hull and height of drive sprocket center line. We hope you find it helpful.

Website: http://www.bluestarmodel.com/index.html
We are also on Facebook and will be posting production updates there.

David
