Inexpensive work surface covering

We all need work benches or some place to build, paint, and repair our fleets, but we also need a surface that is easy to clean, allow us to find those extremely small screws that we loose all the time, and a surface that we can see our parts on easily. Well how about using "Poster Board". I use the white sheets (22 x 28) as covers for the work bench. These are easily fitted/cut to the size you need. They can be used to glue on and even take notes when necessary and the surface is still good to repair the tanks on. I have these on my green formica top of my work surface and it sure makes it easier to see parts on compared to the green/black of the formica. I use the "blue" painter's tape to secure them to the formica top and they stay in place no problem. When they get too dirty or too many notes on them, just change them out and you get a great, bright new surface to work on.

Just a thought that other may be able to use.

That is an outstanding idea & tip. I have been using my green cutting board and or a piece of glass on top of my desk which sort of magnifies the wood grain table.
I will definitely get some poster board to use. Great for us older guys to find and see things.

Now if we can just find a better way to capture those flying little screws and nuts, LOL.
