Has anyone seen the speed of the Tamiya German Jagdpanther Tank?
Does it need gear reduction?
Anyone make a gear reduction for it?

George

Yes Jim, I have lost more of my mind, I plan to attempt to build this one.

Well it appears that I'll have to try to get more of the Allied folks on board, with M26 and M46 tanks to thwart the Axis! Help!!!!

Ok
Now next year at this time I will have a ferrari with a big gun hanging up the front.
The question is who makes an easy, and I do mean easy, way to reduce the speed?
I have schumo gear reductions in both of my tanks, would those work in the Jagdpanther?
So now, all you experts need to come up with easy answers our I will have one hell of a ferrari!
I await your words of wisdom...................

The best I can suggest is contact Bob at ETO Armor: www.etoarmour.com
He has probably the biggest range of specialist upgrades for Tamiya, and I know he has played with the Turnigy widget (he posts as Sevoblast on several forums). He is also one of the 'Hardcore battlers' of the community, so he should stand by any upgrades he sells as he has almost certainly tested them in combat Grin Grin

Hey Martin,
Good info.  I went to the ETO site and according to them the same gear reduction I have
in my other tanks will work in the Jadgpanther.
So about a year from now I hope to have scale speed Jadgpanther hunting Mike#1 and Jim.
Thanks Martin.

Axels Modellbau Shop of Germany confirm they should work in the Jadgpanther.
So no more ferrari.

George, let me take a look at the video and I'll get back to to you. It appears that you can purchase the Impact gear sets to give the perfromance you want/need. I think there is something about this already on the forum as well from Impact. Anyhow, tthe price looks attracive too. I'll review and let you know.

Thanks,

Jim

Based on info from Bob at ETO when using the schumo gear reduction the 14 tooth
gear should be used on the Jagdpanther for scale speed.
Side note, 10 tooth on Tiger & King Tiger.

8 months later.........................
Working with Bob at ETO, we found out the standard Schumo gear reduction will work
in the Panther but not the Jagdpanther.  I have installed a 8 tooth gear, instead of the
standard 10 tooth gear, on the motor shaft which should do about the same thing,
we hope.
